Awkward Position is the title of a provocative new exhibition by artist Laura Angell which opens this coming Friday next July 7 at 7.30pm. Laura Angell is a Galway-based artist from Sheffield. Her work/obsession/raison d’être is manifested via multidisciplinary installations using images and handmade objects to tell an intended narrative.

Age and Opportunity has announced an exciting line-up of Mayo-based events which will take place during the month of May as part of Bealtaine 2017, Ireland's annual festival of creativity as we age. Now in its 22nd year, Bealtaine continues to be embraced by the Mayo community with many arts and cultural events organised by local libraries, arts centres, care settings, galleries, active retirement groups, and community groups across the county. Following boldly in the footsteps of the likes of Polar Bear and Phronesis, Dinosaur skilfully weaves electric-jazz, Celtic folk melodies, and North African drumming styles into a sound reminiscent of late-1960s Miles Davis.

The Big Fellow is an exciting, energetic, and highly acclaimed drama based on Frank O’Connor’s biography of Michael Collins, Co-Motion Media presents The Big Fellow by Declan Gorman at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Tuesday February 14 and Wednesday February 15 at 8pm.
